Joyce Dobbs Thompson

Joyce Dobbs Thompson, age 79 of Monticello, KY, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born May 29, 1944, in Monticello, KY; the daughter of (the late) Leamon and Dellavine (Goodman) Dobbs. She is survived by 1 son, Curtis (Penny) Thompson; 1 daughter, Theresa (Jeff) York; 4 grandchildren, Matthew York, Tasia York, Brittany Perkins, and CJ Thompson; 5 great grandchildren, Graham York, Cypress Broadhurst, Sabyl Broadhurst, Ariah Thompson, and Leighton Thompson; 9 siblings, Anita Brann, Jack Dobbs, Gary Dobbs, Ronnie Dobbs, Loretta Crabtree, Cindy Decker, Paul Dobbs, Lanny Dobbs, and Bruce Dobbs; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Kay Thompson; and 1 brother, Lindell Dobbs. Funeral services were held Monday, February 26, 2024, at 2 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Thompson and Bro. Jimmy Decker officiating. Burial was in the Denney Cemetery. Hickey Funeral Home of Monticello, KY in charge of the arrangements.
